This particular painting was inspired by the first full moon of March. We had just finished a game of broomball at Stevens West Ice Rink. Upon glancing up, we were mesmerized by the moon peeking over Boreas Pass. The way the sky lit up was spectacular as the light danced upon the clouds. March is the second month in 2018 to have a Blue Moon (the second full moon in one month). This is rare-usually we see a blue moon only every 2-3 years according to space.com. While this was not the Blue Moon, it put on its own spectacular show.
